Starting on ATRIPLA

It's the beginning of a fresh start now that you and your healthcare provider have chosen ATRIPLA, which is three meds in one pill daily.

ATRIPLA is a prescription medication used alone as a complete regimen, or with other anti-HIV-1 medicines, to treat HIV-1 infection in adults and children at least 12 years old who weigh at least 40 kg (88 lbs).

Deciding to begin HIV therapy requires a strong commitment. You must be ready to take your HIV medications exactly as your doctor directs. If you miss doses, HIV could become resistant to the medicines you are taking over time. This means your medicines could stop working for you.

What are some tips to help you remember to take your medications?

Do not change or stop your medicine without first talking to your healthcare provider.

ATRIPLA does not cure HIV-1 infection or AIDS and you may continue to experience illnesses associated with HIV-1 infection, including opportunistic infections.

See your healthcare provider regularly while taking ATRIPLA.
